"Just the right blend of danger and romance." (amazon 5* review)
This series of novellas about Genghis Khan's rise to power is based on the 13th century text Secret History of the Mongols. The books are being published under my middle initial 'Katherine A Roberts' because they contain adult themes. Please use caution if sharing with younger readers.
A prophecy says Temujin will unite the tribes under a single banner. But when his father is murdered, and his family is abandoned on the steppe to die, he must fight to reclaim his bride and his father's people from those who stole them.
Borta is destined to be Temujin's bride. But when her young husband does not return to claim her, and the jealous orphan Jamukha tries to take his place, she takes refuge in the spirit world. She trains as a shaman so she can help Temujin become Khan, only to be faced with an impossible choice on her wedding night.
Jamukha has desired Borta from the moment he set eyes on her. When she and Temujin are betrothed according to the prophecy, he sets out to win her back and swears the anda bond with Temujin. The two blood brothers will tear the steppe apart as they fight for control of the clans and for Borta's love.
